What kind of wedding band would go well with my engagement ring?

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to insert my own picture, but my engagement ring looks like this:

A round cut solitaire diamond with a fairly thin yellow gold band.

My fiance was thinking that a simple yellow gold band with no embellishments would look best with it. However, I feel like my engagement ring is simple (but PERFECT for me, don't get me wrong!), so I had always planned on having a less-simple band. I can't figure out what would look good with it though. Thanks!

Re: What kind of wedding band would go well with my engagement ring?

  • I have an idea, get a ring that you REALLY love and stop worry about whether or not it "goes". A ring is just a ring and not the man who gave it to you.  Find something that speaks to your heart and says "this is us".  The ring itself is a symbol of eternity, the rest (design, diamonds, etc.) just make us happy. When you look at the ring, do you think of your partner and they life you are building? Then that is your ring.
  • With such a simple e-ring, you can really pair it with anything you like.  Go to a couple of local jewelry stores and try some on, figure out what you like best.
  •  That's a very pretty engagement ring!! I definitely wouldn't say it's simple, it's just not 'busy!' By the way you described it, I was expecting to open a picture of this simple ring, with these tiny diamonds or something. (Not that there's anything wrong with that), but don't sell it short, (whether it's perfect for you or not), it's very nice! ;)

I agree with the other ladies! Find something that speaks to you! Go to a few jewelry stores & try some on! Maybe even some that you wouldn't normally go for! You never know what you may find! :):) Whatever you choose, it'll be 'you' and it will look beautiful!

     Good luck to you!

  • You should go to a jewelry store and try some on.

Id go with a simple gold band or Tiffany's shared-setting band ring. There's also Tiffany's Jean Schlumberger Lynn ring.
  • With simple solitaires I love adding enhancers/wraps to bling it up a bit.
  • I feel like literally anything will look good with it, so I also suggest going to a store to just try on 20 bands and see what you like the best.
  • What about a wedding band with channel-set diamonds: http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-gold_4102

Honestly, with a ring that classic- you can do what ever you want. Just start looking. One thing to think about, if you do go simple for what ever reason, you can always upgrade later on as an anniversary present.

This. Especially go to the non chained jewelry stores. I found my band at a local owned store. It was part of a set that someone did not want because it was just a band and they wanted something sparkly.

  • I agree, go to a a few stores & try on bands and see what makes you excited. You know what your personality and style is best, you will know when you see the right band.

  • I have a single stone (princess cut) e-ring and went with a channel set wedding band.  It is still simple, like my ring, but looks great with it and I absolutely love it.

  • A slightly curved band with round brilliant diamonds would look lovely. You could go channel set or claw set and either would look good
