U ladies decide on a date? I'm having  the hardest time and FI is no help and I guess there is no rush since we are having a long engagement.  The wedding Yr. is the only thing we have agreed on  and is going to happen in 2015, which give us a Yr. to save first...but once next yr. get here and its time to really get busy we still have to decide if we want a destination wedding or not and where? Crazy!1!!!!!!! lol! so how did u ladies decide on a date and what time of yr would be good for everyone u want to share this day with?

    Our dating anniversary is on the 1st of November, and we got engaged  in August = August 1, 2014. 

    We chose the year because I wanted to be done with my Masters before we got married. I graduate in May and get married two months after. It's perfect!

    We got engaged this past April, and like you wanted to have some time to save up, so we agreed on the end of 2014.  Since we both wanted a destination wedding the winter months fit the bill.  Some other things that you cant take into consideration when you're setting a date if you want a Fri, Sat, or Sun, other important dates (birthdays, holidays, etc.), work/school schedules, that should help narrow things down for you some. Congrats!

    We got engaged April, 2013. A few factors played into the date we choose of November 23, 2013. November is the start of wedding venue discount season, the weather can still be decent in Chicago in November, we had the money available and if there was no November availability for the venue of our choice we would wait until spring of 2014. They had availability, so November it is!

    Congrats @amjcwedding on getting that Masters, I am too now considering going back to school after 17 yrs in they Navy and having to retire early to get my bachelors since I get bored being at home I feel that will be another accomplishment for myself since I don't have to work :-), so that's another factor...we just got engaged this July 4th and I would like a winter wedding especially being down here in Miami or even a Caribbean wedding

    SoontobMrsRaines I didnt know you are a Miami girl (ME TOO)!! And we initially choose the fall times only because winter, spring and summer have sooo many holidays and venues and vendors tend to charge more but now since next year we are going to MD for his family reunion we decided to do it in June and just consider the family reunion as a honeymoon...shrugs....and not to mention we should have more than enough time to pay everything and everyone off between now and then

    We choose our anniversary of meeting each other, May 18. Next year, it falls on a Sunday, which was financially sound for our budget.

    @soontobMrsRaines.. didnt know you were from the MIA (me too!!).. HEY GIRL HEY... any who.. we started dating in March.. and got enagaged in December 2012. He didnt have any opinion of a date so I said November 2013 (bc by the hurricane season would be almost done) or March 2014. I then said March 2014...he said whats the wait.. so I said ok November it is.. and then with the date we and by we I mean me.. just picked a weekend.

    We decided on a month 1st based on our schedules. We kept telling everyone what month but eventually had to pick an actual date. We looked at all the weekends in that month & figured out which days would NOT work lol. Thats how we figured out which day would be best :)

    @misstira and @LeciaB I was born and raised in the county of Dade lol! in Carol City but now named Miami Gardens lol! we should do a meet and greet one day....I am torn my birthday is in April his is in September normally labor day weekend but in 2015 its not which is good we then have our engagement day July 4th we been friends for forever but didn't get together till Oct 2012 when he convinced me this was real and he really wanted us to be together..so after retirement I did not renew my lease and moved from Chesapeake VA back to Miami to be with him so that's a important day to me what also play a factor Kids do we want kids at the wedding or not because his family has lots of kids but me and him do not have kids and there are no kids on my side except for my niece so I have to consider what time of the yr would be best because of school clothes and Christmas, thanksgiving ugh!!! ooh boy he just told me to stop being so analytical I analyze everything lol! plus this will be our 2nd marriage so we really want it to be special since with our 1st marriages were at the justice of the piece so I just really want this to be the perfect day for both of us my apologies I am rambling

    SoontobMrsRaines Girl we might be neighbors LOL im in Miami Lakes so yes definitely a GTG has got to be scheduled LOL and wow you have alot to think about when it comes to setting the date... i kinda randomly picked a date and thats where we are LOL... But definitely dont over analyze honey just kinda pick a date that will make you both happy and call it quits LOL... And for me kids are not all that welcomed and i say that because kids can tend to take over and next you know lil peanut on the dance floor breaking it down taking all the attention away from you and your hubby... So ive already put my disclaimer out there that the only kids that are welcomed are the ones in the wedding and if you cant find a sitter then no prob thats one less person i need to feed!!

    Fall is my favorite season and october is my favorite month. So I wanted a date in October. I know alot off people dont celebrate "Sweetest Day" but we do every year. I never did before I met him. He always makes sure we do something on this day. So we decided what would be a better day to get married on than sweetest day. So there it is.....OCTOBER 19....

    @misstira ok Miami Lakes not far frm me at all I'm actually in the city in his bachelor pad lol! we will be here till after wedding so we can continue to save for our house. I just read about what dates not to get married on other crazy dates on the knot and I'm actually thing about 5/10/15 lol! I am so glad u mention not having kids u are so right I am definitely considering not having kids and that would be a perfect reason for a destination wedding..... I am also serious about a get together can use a girls night out and talk about wedding stuff

    Honestly he chose the date. Well kind of. He wanted his birthday, I wanted May. The compromise was he got September and I got my Saturday hence September 7

    He told me a date and I just went with it...LOL As long as it alloted us enough time to save which it did I didnt care...We are now 22 days away!!!

    GIRL WE WANTED ANY EX TO REMEMBER....EARLY SUMMER...SO JUNE 1 2014 IT WAS....CHANGED IT TO A 4 DAY WEDDING CRUISE, ON CARNIVAL ECSTACY TO BAHAMAS..CHEAPEST NOT TOO TOO HOT MONTH WAS APRIL 11,2014 SO THEN IT WAS THAT DAY BUT NOOOOOOW.....IM PUTTING IT OFF YET AGAIN!! SMH

    wow @aquaris216 I understand it's hard picking the right day we went with 5/10/15 and also decided to have a destination wedding so we can honeymoon right after it took a month and a half but we finally decided we r having a long engagement so we can save for the wedding and honeymoon cuz he went in on my engagement ring :-)

Cutler Ridge. but I will make the journey to hang out..lol... @aquari06 lol that is so funny about the date for an EX to remember...noo what you are changing the date again?
