Photo share website

Hi! I just got married (working on reviews) but was wondering if anybody has any experience of the best websites that all of my guests can go on and share the photos they took while at the wedding?  Any suggestions?

Re: Photo share website

  • Why not upload them to instagram and use a #hashtag

  • This might be a bit beyond what you're looking to do but if you have your own website hosted somewhere, I added this 'Ultimate file uploader' script to our website:

    http://www.element-it.com/multiple-file-upload/silverlight-image-uploader.aspx

It was $179 but allows drag and drop uploading from our guests to us so everyone just had to go to the website and then could drag their entire folder of pics over to the web page to upload them; no other step needed.

I used it to get pics and videos from everyone and then I put a gallery together so people could view them all or download them all.  I didn't go the public website or image hosting service route because I didn't want pics from our wedding floating around on the internet, and also wanted to maintain some editorial control over what was distributed.

This would only really work if you have a website that you have full access to; i.e. a real site rather than a Knot-hosted site where you just have a template interface to add text and things.

  • We were thinking of the #hashtag idea too!  Once we think of one we are going to put it on our website, that way people can use it from now until the wedding.

I use photobucket. I set up a general one and gave out the password and everyone went and uploaded there photos, once everyone's was up. I changed the password and password protected the album and sent out the link and password. I use because you can do high res uploads and you can download a whole album or single pictures :) Oh yeah and the basic account is free ;)

  • I use flickr, they give you a whole terrabyte of space for free! My FI has all of his DSLR photos on there and plenty of room to spare. You can share albums with friends so they can upload their photos to it too. This is what we will do for our guests' wedding photos so we can put them together in a slideshow for our home reception.
