Best hotel for mini moon

OK guys and gals

I've been planning our "mini moon" for the Red Rocks Casino after the wedding. It looks very modern, has a fantastic pool, and it might be nice to get outta dodge if you know what I mean. Also, the price was incredible for our mid-week stay, $85 a night.

Well, we didn't book, and now the rates have gone up. So I'm wondering if it even makes sense anymore. I've always wanted to stay at the Wynn, or Bellagio... maybe even Cosmo. It will cost more than Red Rocks... but why not splurge for the occasion?

So, what's you favorite hotel and why? Looking for a good pool!

Thanks!

  • When we are looking to go a little more high end we usually end up at Palazzo.   We love all the restaurants in the Venetian/Palazzo shops.  Eating at a place with a table that overlooks the gondola rides and the water always feels romantic to me.  Gondola rides are also very fun too!  And Bouchon is my favorite place for brunch!

Nothing fancy about the pool, but I liked that.  No loud music, just people swimming and drinking.  One trip we went down a little later in the day and one of the pool staff searched and found us two chairs next to each other too.

I only stayed at Bellagio once, but I honestly wasn't too impressed with the rooms.  For a fancy hotel I was expecting more.

I've never stayed at Wynn or Cosmo, but I don't think you could wrong with any of them!

I stayed at the Cosmo last month and the Encore in 2011. At the time we loved the Encore but after staying at the Cosmo I think I prefer it, rooms are lovely at both but I like that the Cosmo is more modern. It was great having a balcony overlooking the fountains too, that definitely made it more special. Great restaurants too. We didn't go to the Boulevard pool only the quieter bamboo pool at Cosmo, it is quite small nice atmosphere though. I really liked the pool at the Encore it was much larger than the cosmos bamboo pool but there are three to choose from at the Cosmo.
  • My wife and I started our honeymoon in a Mandalay SkyView suite; loved it; separate living room and bedroom, bar, huge tub, incredible view.  Their pool of course is great; wave pool, regular pools, adult pool, beach, lazy river, etc.  I'm not a huge MB fan from a value perspective but for honeymoons I think it's great.
