Wedding at Caesars Palace: Cleopatra vs. Caesar?

Just wondering if any Brides out there have had their wedding at CP and can offer any insight on both of these packages? Is it better to go with the Cleopatra and upgrade? Is it worth the extra money to upgrade the photography package? Any help would be great :)

I think you are better going with the cheapest package and upgrading, if you actually add up the cost of what you want I think its overpriced in the package and you end up paying for stuff you don't need or want, that is unless you do really want everything that comes with the package. I'd still calculate the cost of everything individually though just to ensure it is the better option. I went with the cheapest, $1150 Bella Luna package as I didn't want to stay at Caesars, get my hair done there, have attendants or need a limo to the bureau etc. It's also worth considering the cost to get the copyright for all of your images and the disc with all photos, just incase you haven't seen the cost - http://www.imaginestudioslv.com/caesars-palace-photography-cinema-services/ The only extras I wanted were additional flowers and an extra hour of photography including copyright. I paid $220 for a 24 rose/ peonies bouquet and $799 for an extra hour of photography including all the images. For me this was by far the most cost effective way of getting exactly what I wanted. Regardless of the package I went with I would still of had to pay either $400/$525 or $800 for the copyright and I would be paying for extras that weren't required. Are you planning to get a photographer for the rest of the day? If so, you may be best to pay the external vendor fee to use your own photographer and forget Caesars photography altogether. I'm sure you can do this for around $250/300. Edit - apologies I wrote this on the ipad and it won't keep my paragraphs in place.
  • We would like to keep everything at Caesars to make it easier on our guests. I think I may go with the Cleopatra package and just do the upgrades. It seems like many brides recommend the extra photography time with the copyright/disc with all of the images. I don't plan on having attendants stand for me, but is a witness necessary? Have you heard of any good places for hair/make up, it would be nice to have someone come to my room to do both. Thanks for the info! :)
  • I didn't end up going with caesars for my ceremony (my reception is at caesars) but I did have a bunch of info from them. I too think it would be best to go for the cheaper package and just do upgrades. They actually have a separate doc file listing all their available upgrades. Check with that and maybe see what sorta extras you're interested in. Add them all together and see which is more worth it for you :)

as for makeup and other stuff you should check out vegas groom's blog if you haven't already! He has a list of everything and you can do your research from there! :)
Our wedding day also marks our 11th anniversary of being together :)

Anyone can be a witness, you just need one each. The officiant asked me for two witnesses just before the ceremony, I got my parents to sign as they were in the bridal room with me. I was staying at the Cosmopolitan and was keen to have my hair and makeup done at the hotel so I can't recommend anyone but you could search on here and VG's site. I think I'd go with the Cleopatra package, for the Caesars package/$1500 extra your getting an hour of photography (and still have to pay for all the images), $100 food credit, hair & makeup and $100 flower credit. Whereas you can add the extra hour plus image rights for $799. I don't think the number of prints matters, if your getting the disc you can print copies however and whenever you like. I'd also consider the $800 difference between the roman and cleopatra packages, if the main differences are an extra nights stay, limo to bureau, $100 food credit and $140 towards flowers, I'm not sure if adding those separately your total would come to $800, depends on the cost of the room on your date.
  • I would go with the Cleopatra package and then upgrade.  I ended up going with the one however, in hindsight I probably should have gone with a cheaper package.  I am bringing in my own photographer so I ended up paying for a lot of services that I am not using.  I would decided first of all: do you want your own photographer or are you happy with theirs?  Than I would decide what exactly you wanted for extras and double check with the wedding coordinator what your best option would be.  Hope that helps!

  • We're planning our wedding at Caesar's. I'm going with the Cleopatra package, but we plan to use everything it includes. We are staying at the hotel because we want to keep everything on property. We are also upgrading photography because we actually like Imagine Studios better than the cheaper independent options they have. Plus, it's just less of a hassle and since we're planning from SC, I prefer to have everything taken care of by the hotel. We will be booking a room block and using a restaurant on property for a reception dinner.

So, I guess it just depends on what you want. I personally am very excited for all the things included in the Cleopatra package. Two nights knocks off what we have to pay and we plan on folding our honeymoon into this trip so it works out for us.
  • I went with the roman package - on a Saturday in the Garden.  That was $2000.  I thought that was pricey enough : )  I plan on upgrading my bouquet - they say that will be $250ish.  I am bringing in my own hair and make up (Amelia & Co. ) and hired a separate photographer (Bently & Wilson) to join us on the DDB afterwork.  We are staying at CP for our entire trip of 5 nights and I am floored at how pricey the rooms have gotten.  They are currently $300+ a night.  @Writerinthepink where are you having your dinner?  We are doing ours at Central.
  • Thanks for the help! I really like the idea of the coordinators at CP doing everything for me, but I may go with an outside photographer! I can pay $800 for an extra hour of photography and CD with Imagine studios or $550 for 4 hours of photography & CD from Bently & Wilson.. Does anyone know what the outside vendor fee is? We would also like to do a restaurant reception near CP, thinking PJ Clarkes or The Palms... anyone have any other suggestions or thoughts on those restaurants?
  • I paid an additional $300 to bring in my own photography.

I was quoted a $350 outside photography surcharge for my June 2014 wedding.

PJ Clarkes is nice - other nice places in the Forum Shops include Carmine's, Spago, Joe's, and (depending on your taste) Cheesecake Factory. The Palms and Spago are quite a bit closer to the entrance of the mall from the casino. Not sure if that's a concern.

How many guests are you planning on?
  • We are estimating about 50 guests! We haven't sent out any save the dates or invitations yet as we are planning for October 2014.
