October outdoor wedding.. to cold?

So I am thinking about doing an outdoor wedding the second week of October and I am just wondering if people think it would be to cold for an outdoor reception? I was thinking a reception with a bon fire and people tenting outside but now that I am thinking about it I am not sure if October will be to cold for that! Anyone have any advice or experience with this?
In a few years I will be marrying my best friend since Childhood :)

  • Oh by the way getting Married in Maine
In a few years I will be marrying my best friend since Childhood :)
  • I'm in Michigan and getting married outside October 5th...I think the first week or two are the safest bets in the northeast
  • i'm not sure about there but i know where i live ( southwestern ontario) first couple weeks in october arn't too cold for weather its random i'm sure if you have heaters in the tents it will be good

  • We are attempting to have our ceremony on the beach on October 26 in New Jersey. We completely understand the weather could be hit or miss. So we have an alternative inside location set up with our venue. I think the biggest thing is to make sure you have a back up plan if the weather isn't going to be comfortable for your guests outside.

  • I'm getting married on the 12th in Phx, Arizona, and I'm wondering if it will still be too hot by then! Lol. The weather is always so unpredictable here that time of year. It could be 60 degrees or it could be nearly 100. I've got my fingers crossed that it will be somewhere in between!
  • We're getting married outside on Oct. 25th in KS. Previous years have been hit or miss with 80 degree weather the end of October one year, rain the next, and even snow a time or two! We have a 'plan B' to move the ceremony indoors if need be, and we also have portable heaters that will be set up outside.

  • We are getting married outside October 5 in Chicago. We have a tent and have tent walls and heaters/fans on reserve depending on the weather. Crossing our fingers none of that is needed, but if it is, then we are prepared. We talked to the tent company and they will give us up to a few days before the wedding to tell them what, if anything, of those additional items we need.

I say go for it if you want but have a backup plan if needed.

  • We are getting married outside in Indiana on Oct 12th.  No tents but I'm thinking of a couple of fire pits.  I'm afraid it's going to be too cold per the almanac the average is in the 50's.
  • We are getting married on a Cape Cod beach, after dark, on October 12th.
  • We are also getting married October 12th in NH.  I was worried it may me a little cold once the sun goes down.  I may have to find some blankets just in case.  As for the reception I think everyone should be fine!
