Thankfully its Friday!

How was your week?

Ours was hectic to say the least. We had five confirmed tornados very late Tuesday night/very early Wednesday morning. We had no warnings either. THe part where it says Appleton and Kaukauna, well it went right through where my work is (Appleton), past where I live, and ended in my mom's area of Kaukauna. She has to have everything replaced. Roof, siding, ceilings inside the house, furnace, pool, patio, patio table/chairs, grill, landscaping, and get her car fixed. Her chimney completely flew off her roof pulling the insides of her furnace out and allowing water into the furnace and attic. They got power back late afternoon Wednesday. We were out at our house for two hours and my work just got it back late last night. The road in front of my work is still closed for about 2 miles. The plus side, NO ONE got hurt.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Today I am done with work at 11. After that, I am going to my grandmas and we are putting together the bouquets for the wedding. After that I bartend, which I am not complaining since its the first Packer pre-season game and should be busy. Tomorrow I work two bartending shifts also and then Sunday and I am helping my MOH and another BM get things ready for my shower next weekend.

  • Oh my, thankfully everyone is ok! This week wasn't too bad for me. Next week will be the crazy week. School starts... yay for me!

  • Yikes! Tornadoes scare the crap out of me - and I haven't even been through a bad one - just the warnings are enough to get my pulse racing!

My week was good.  I spent the first part of it in Disney with the family and had a blast - then came back to oodles of work.  Sometimes the short weeks at work are the longest.  Definitely looking forward to this weekend where I plan on hanging out with FI and Abby and doing NOTHING else.

We unfortunately didn't get any warning. No sirens, nothing. The train sound is definitely creepy when you have no idea what is going on.

  • This week was a short week for me, I was in MD Saturday-Monday apartment/house hunting. I bought something off of our registry yesterday.... To be fair, the only reason I bought it was because it's something that we actually need (a king size comforter) and it was on crazy sale. Like, I think I saved almost 70% on the darn thing. So, hooray! We may not have sheets for our non-existent bed yet, but we'll have a really nice down comforter! Sigh....

This weekend will be packed full of cleaning and laundry, I've got to get ready to move soon. I don't need to pack, thank goodness, but I need to organize and get rid of stuff and throw out what I don't want the packers to pack - because they will pack EVERYTHING. It's kind of weird.
  • i am SO happy that its friday. i am a teller at a bank and some old woman accused me of taking $20 from her. which clearly i didn't do because my drawer balanced to the penny. so thanks lady for ruining my day. and week. TGIF!

  • Yay! I have off today. Pretty solid start, laid in bed playing candy crush and solitaire. Just got up and checked the mail - it was already here! Super early. Anyway, we had 5 rsvps, I only opened one because FI likes to be there when I do - but it was my grandpa's in Texas and I was curious. He was our first decline, unfortunately. I knew with his heath it was unlikely he would be able to travel but I had still held out some hope!

Then tomorrow is my shower and bachelorette party! Woohoo! My mom and MOH are coming to my house today to get it cleaned up and ready for tomorrow.

And Sunday is the 1/2 season premiere of Breaking Bad... only 6 more episodes. Ever. It makes me so sad!!!

  • OMG!!!  Very scary about the tornados!!!!  I am so glad that everyone is okay!!!

This week has had it ups and downs!  I'm fairly slow at work so been doing more wedding stuff.  However, when I do have work I would rather be doing wedding stuff.  LOL

Matron of Honor emailed me earlier this week.  She had some skin cancer removed from the top of her head and they shaved an area the size of a baseball to take it out.  She asked if I would go hat shopping with her this weekend.  I said that would be great as I need to get some things as well.  Then she tells me that she hasn't bought her dress yet and it is out of stock!!!!  I emailed her a month ago and told her the dress was on sale and she should get it then.  I know she procrastinates so kind of par for the course.  BM suggested the petite, as MOH isn't very tall, so she was able to get it in the petite.  So disaster averted there.

FI and I had a massage last night.  Therapist ended up doing a deep tissue massage on me, because I'm soooo stressed, and I am very sore this morning!!!  Tonight is a facial, hair appointment tomorrow!

It's been a very busy week and I am so ready for the weekend!!!

  • @joellennitsche; I was a teller for a while at a bank.  That always sucks.  Then I went to work in the cash vault for an armored truck company.  You don't know PITA until one of your other branches, which ships you money calls and says THEY are out of balance, so you have to run BAGS of BRICKS of money.  16 bricks in a bag, each brick is 10 straps, each strap is 100 bills.  And they do it on a Friday.  While you're prepping change orders to go out to customers and banks.  And then your change orders are out of balance, like, LITERALLY $1, so you're tearing open every bag that had partial straps of $1's to verify them.  The reality is that the LAST bag you open will ALWAYS be the one that was out of balance.

I've had those days.  And worse than the day described above.  When it comes to money, it's an incredibly stressful work environment simply BECAUSE money is involved.  And everyone who used to tell me that they'd have trouble working around all that money ($1.6 million in ONE bag is no biggie to me now when I've literally handled millions in a matter of moments) is an idiot.  My freedom's worth more than any amount of money.

But I always loved hearing good stories of how people "Done it".  :)

All that said; my new job...for a Friday..is sucktastic today.  3 orders for Judges, 1 "final order" that's 46 pages long, exhibits to certify and a bunch of other 'piddly' shit that I need to do.
I'm going to the Mexican restaurant down the street and having at LEAST 1 margarita with lunch.  I might even have 2.  :)
