Reasonable budget for catering in suite for 30 people?

Hi all,

Trying to debate cost with FI about our rehearsal dinner and trying to see if doing an in suite dinner would be most cost effective than doing a restaurant dinner for our group and he asked if anyone had a reasonable budget or what they spent doing something similar?

Any response is appreciated and you can ballpark it if you want since what people spent is not really our business, but would help :) We are looking at the Marqui suite at the Platinum as the suite at this point.

Re: Reasonable budget for catering in suite for 30 people?

  • Well we are having our reception in a suite at the platinum and I'm getting all our food from albertsons supermarket. They have lots of hot and cold platters to chose from. We are also having our 2 tier cake from fairy tale cakes for 175. For the food and cake we are only spending 300.

  • I think it really depends on the type of food you are looking for. When we were looking to go in suite for our meet n greet we wanted heavy apps and masterpiece quoted about $25pp the suite was going to cost about $900 for the night so for 40 people we were going to spend over $2k plus decorations and booze. So we decided against this idea.

Mind you there are much cheaper suites on and slightly off the strip. And you can get more cost effective catering like Valerie is. The other benefit of in suites is you can party for as long as you want to and booze is MUCH cheaper!

  • Thank girls! Valerie- do you have to go pick up the food from Albertson's? We wont have a car when in town, so that is my concern.

    Thanks

  • Yes you would have to pick up the food, that's the downside.

  • Thank girls! Valerie-are you using the Marquis siuite? Have you seen it or are you planning to look at it? I am thinking that may be great to do to keep everything in the same area- rehearse, have some drinks in the lounge then up to a meet and greet/rehearsal reception.
