Hi friends,
I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I want to have a band play at my reception but the reception is at a B&B and we're inviting roughly 165 people. The band has 5 people in it and they've looked at the space and said they can make it work by only using 1 speaker. There is a rather large dance floor area and other rooms, but everything is open and there is not much in the house that will absorb sound. We knew from day 1 that a band may pose a problem, but it's something I've had my heart set on since the beginning. The deposit has been paid at the B&B but not with the band. The minimum number to have anything at the B&B is 100. My parents are also footing the bill so they ultimately have the final say so and my mom is extremely worried about people getting blasted out of the room. The guy reassured us that would not happen.
Anyone else ever been in this situation? What did you do? Or are you thinking just shut up and hire a DJ?
