  I know its kinda weird but there are some tent campsites (with grass not sand) in galveston that are like 25 a day and its almost right on the beach, you may be able to contact them and ask them if you can do it there. 

  Theres a park thing in the woodlands, they have a little pavilion and its right on a man made lake. If you're coming from I-45 exit at woodlands parkway then go east on woodlands parkway a few miles and its on the right. a down side is that since woodlands parkway is pretty busy there will be cars going by on a regular basis. 

  If you're willing to go to katy theres mary jo peckham park. my friend has has parts for her kids there, we have had church events there. and best of all, im pretty sure its free. you can use the gazibos by the lake (but you have to reserve those)  heres the webiste

  My coworkers duaghter got married at a small park in League city called Helen's Garden.  The fee was nominal and it was nice park.

  Raven Lodge in Huntsville is really awesome. I *almost* got married there. I think the fee is $500?

  Also what you can do is search for a list of different counties parks/community centers. this will really help you and rental fees are almost always on plain view in the website. they are often cheap....almost always under 1k!!!
  also, this might be surprising but sometimes very small museums seem to be under 1k... i have found some AWESOME cheap and different venues...the problem-- all too small for me

  Bhalesha depending on the number of guests, Check out Huntsville state park Lodge. Has a home style kitchen, GORGEOUS old timey bar, 2 rooms and has tables and chairs, along with a really pretty concrete/stone patio facing lake Huntsville.
  
  On a Non-holiday it's $100 or $150 for the day. But park closes at 9 or 10. Good thing is, you don't have to have cops a permit none of that stuff. And they have hardwood floors and interior restrooms as well as ac/heat. And depending on time of year, 2 indoor stone fireplaces :-)
  
  I'm having my reception at The Monument Inn. No fees, but they only have n 8 foot ceiling which is my only complaint lol. I'm paying $27/pp for a plated sit down dinner!

  Raven Lodge is actually $250 a day - you can have reception and ceremony in the same place and they have 10 tables and 70 chairs.  Everyone must be out of the park by 10 p.m.  Also all alcohol has to be unidentifiable (for example beer can be in koozies).

  When I called yesterday to see if our date was still available, they said its $250 for a HOLIDAY, but $150 for regular days.
  
  Bc were hoping to go back to having it there. And alcohol outside the building has to be concealed. Inside, it doesn't matter. That's what they were telling us when they gave us our little tour of the place.
