where did you get your ring appraised?

I need to get an appraisal in order to get my ring added to our homeowners insurance.  I have no clue who to call for this.  I tried Baxter's, but they told me to call back about 3 times over a 2 week span, then told me I had to leave my ring with them for 2 weeks.  My mom had hers appraised in another state & it was done on the spot.  Where did you get yours done?

  • I got mine done at Hannoush at Swansea Mall, it took about 2 hours, but I just hung around the mall.

  • I had mine done by the jeweler who made it. A&A jewelers - Lex is the owner. They are in North Dartmouth. It took them about an hour.

  • i went to Cynthia Konney. She was awesome. I sat with her the whole time and she explained everything to me. I didn't tell her anything about the quality of my ring and her guesses were right on the mark. She has top notch reviews. I personally would never leave my ring with anybody for several hours-- they can switch the stone on you and you would never know.

  • I used Yepremian Jewelers on Rt 5 near the Cranston/Warwick line.  A coworker recommended them to me.  I've used them for a few other things (ring resizing, making a custom pendant from 2 rings I was given) and they're work is fabulous.

Ross Simons in Warwick but the appraiser is only there certain days so I had to book the appointment in advance.
  • I took mine to MRT because they were local.  I want to say they charged $50 per appraisal because I did not buy them there.
