Shower date??

When are you having your shower?  Unfortunately, my sister is very pregnant and her due date is Aug 22nd but we think he will come early so her mind hasn't really been on planning a shower for me.  Furthermore, I'm not 100% sure that I want to have one/it's necessary for me.  Also, my son's bday is the 2nd week of Sept. so.....I don't have a lot of dates available to have it.  Is anyone having it really close to their date? Is anyone not having one at all?  If not, why aren't you?

    I am having mine 3 weeks before the wedding simply because we are having such a short engagement and that is when it works best for everyone. I don't think it really matters when you have it, if you do in fact want one.

    I know some people don't want to have one if they don't need or haven't registered for anything for whatever reason. Other people I know who haven't had a shower did so because they don't care for them. I think that if you have someone/people who are willing to throw one for you, unless you are opposed to it, do it whenever. A shower can be a big to do or very simple.

    I'm not having a shower. fI and I have lived together for 2 years already so its not really a necessary thing. Also my weekends are very busy. Last weekend of Aug and every weekend of sept my daughter has a track meet, other daughter day is mid sept. BIL is getting married first weekend sept. And wedding Oct 12. Gonna be very busy squeezing in last min wedding stuff.

    Mine is the night before the wedding due to logistics. His family is coming in from multiple states and would be offended if they couldn't attend. It's not the ideal situation, but it'll work. :-)

    Mine is September 27 I believe. It is supposed to be a surprise - but I found out kind of by accident. So almost one month before the wedding.  Bachelorette party is the same day :)

    My shower was July 28th, so it already happened.

    I was really looking forward to my shower, and had a blast. If someone offers to host one for you and it's something you might like, go for it! It was nice to see all my female friends and family in one place.

    Mine is Oct 12th.  My Matron of Honor wanted to wait until my mom could attend.  :-)  That is two weeks before the wedding and I have requested no gifts.  I don't want people to feel the need to spend more money when they are all paying for a hotel OOT and then potentially a gift.
