Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be able to post. I've been lurking on this board for awhile, but now that I'm engaged, I felt it was time to come out of lurkdom. My fiance (love saying that) proposed this past weekend. After spending all day Friday exploring NY, we ended our night at the Empire State Building. And it was there that he asked me to marry him! We've been on cloud 9 ever since.

I've been here long enough to know how great this board is. I look forward to chatting it up

Thanks everyone for the welcome. We haven't even started planning yet, so we don't have a date and I haven't thought of a color scheme yet. I live about an hour away from my hometown, so I'll be heading down there this weekend to start looking at venues.

I work as an assistant finance officer for a local municipality and my FI just got promoted as a property manager (so proud of him). I live in Central Jersey and he just found moved to Hoboken which is where I'll move after the wedding. We've been together a little less than a year, but started talking marriage soon after we started dating. I guess this was a case of "when you know...you know". I'm 39 and he'll turn 40 this December; this is the first marriage for both. The last wedding I went to was 3 years ago and I'm open to a lot of ideas
