Do my wedding colors have to complement my champagne gown?

I just bought a champagne gown but really had my heart set on a pink bouquet and the bridesmaids wearing black dresses with pink shoes. Is black now out of the question? What are some sophisticated color palettes that might work for me?

    Black goes with everything.

Hope you're paying for those pink shoes you're requiring.

  • I really like the black/pink/champagne combo. It sounds lovely.

Sounds lovely. Champagne and pink/blush are in combo right now. Is it a spring wedding?
  • Black is never out of the question. That sounds beautiful!

  • I work a champagne dress for my wedding. We held up several different colored BM dresses against the dress to determine which color looked best. Black looked great, it gave it a nice formal feeling. As for the pink, I would have to say, depends on what shades of pink. But a good florist will help you with the right shade of pink flowers to compliment your colors. You may need to compromise with the BM shoes to somthing more neutral & just give them pink flowers but you can also do pink accessories to bring in the color more.
  • I'm picturing a man in a black tux, holding a glass of champagne with raspberries floating in it. The color combo is sleek and elegant. Go for it!
  • To answer your original question-- yes, your dress should compliment your wedding colors. You would not want to look garish or out of place in your photos or too your guests. I think your colors sound fine.
