Quitting coordinator - final meeting questions

So, I'm sure most of you saw my post yesterday about our venue's coordinator leaving 11 days before our wedding. Hmph.

Well we have scheduled the sit down meeting with her, a manager/other representative from the venue, myself, my mother, and my MOH. This is going to be our "final" meeting to get everything down on paper and details exactly in place so whoever the hell is running the wedding will know what's going on.

Is there any advice you guys can offer about what to discuss in this meeting? I feel like there are so many details I'm afraid I am going to forget something.

Also, I need to add that I am paying $400 for a last minute flight in town because that's the only way I have time to go and be there on the day that's convenient for THEM. Should we try to squeeze a discount out of them or ask them to cover travel expenses? Because if she wasn't just up and leaving this wouldn't be happening right now.

TIA ladies! Thanks for still answering all these nonsense questions when it's two days before a bunch of your weddings!

Re: Quitting coordinator - final meeting questions

  • I can't offer much in terms of final questions other than set-up (where will each table go, what time should the vendors be there, who will handle deliveries), etc. However, you should absolutely request that your time and flight be covered since it's the company's fault that you have to spend that money in the first place. Good knottie vibes your way!

  • I would ask for some type of compensation being a discount, them covering your travel, or extra perks thrown in.

I would ask about who exactly will be running things since she is leaving. Also I would do a final walk through of how things will be set up and what will be where. Also if they are catering go over the menu again. Ask about a timeline.

That's all I can think of right now.
  • I guess you can always try to ask for a discount, I personally don't think they owe you anything, because you technically did not have to fly in. Maybe see if they will throw in extra time or upgrade the bar or something like that. I think asking them to cover your travel is a bit much.

    IMO
