About to propose! Need help with ringbox!

Hi--please excuse me if this is in the wrong forum.

I will be proposing within the next 8 weeks, and I am looking for brightly colored ring boxes (like below). My girlfriend has showed me these many times, and particularly loves the orange, pinks and yellow boxes. She especially loves how the inside of the box is not plain white, but the same vivid color as the exterior.

I have searched all over for these colors (or similar) in a velvet, clam-shell style.

Can anyone please help or provide some recommendations?

Thanks,

Tony

  • Your image didn't work. I would go to an craft supply store or maybe even party city.
  • K, let's try this again...should be working now. Thanks!

  • Etsy maybe?
  • Hi and thanks for replying. Unfortunately, I've scoured Etsy for both new and vintage boxes of this style and haven't come up with much. I'm hoping this thread will help me out!
  • Like this?

This site has a TON of ring boxes in a bunch of different colors.

    Congrats and good luck!! :)

Women actually care what color box their engagement ring is in?

Nope. My ring came out of a pair of swim trunks. I was too psyched he was asking me to marry him to care what box it didn't come out of.

Mine was in a big mac box.
  • Yeah, I mean, my ring was in the box from the jeweler. I've heard of some women sending/showing their boyfriends pictures of rings, but never of the ring box. Sounds kind of...high maintenance...if I must be honest.

My favorite color is orange, but I would never have expected DH to spend money on an orange ring box that I'd never use again.

  • To everyone that has taken time out of their lives to help me with this request---thank you, sincerely.

To those who, for one reason or another, took time out of their lives to comment with their own opinions on the importance of ringboxes, etc.with a tinge of condescension, please move on. Your time can probably be better spent elsewhere.

Thanks again to all those who have helped so far! I love the recommendations.

  • @gagz135, this is a public forum, which means you can't control how people post.

No one was being condescending. This is honestly an idea I've never heard of before after thousands of posts here, so I had no idea women cared about the color of their ring box. Obviously, your GF does, so it makes us curious as to why. Is it trendy in your area? Does she collect boxes?

Mine was in a ceramic box that said marry me on it..but I could have cared less if it was in the jeweler box..but it is a sweet touch I think.

This is a public forum and people can post their opinions. Why are you asking internet strangers their opinions on something as insignificant as a ring box anyways?

  • Those are cool boxes.

Mine was inside a bag, inside a cribbage board inside a box. Not even sure if my fiance still has the original box.

My mom jokes about how my stepdad had her engagement ring wadded up in toilet paper in his pocket prior to proposing.

If your girlfriend is so picky she will be more concerned about the ring box, rather than the proposal and ring, wedding planning will be a TON of fun for you. We look forward to hearing the horror stories! :)

My fiance hid his in his socks. I actually packed my ring without even knowing it. I kept asking my fiance on our hike down to the bottom of the grand canyon if he wanted to change socks to prevent blisters. But he told me he was fine. He got some crazy blisters, but I didn't find the ring! I noticed for maybe half a second that there was no box, then got all caught up in the moment and didn't care. He was worried I would find it, so he left it behind.

Good luck to you and congratulations! We're all sharing our engagement stories not to detour you, but because it is fun to reminisce. Different girls like different things. Obviously the box is important to your fiance, or she would not have shown you the photos. You are a good man to find a box to make the proposal that much more special.

  • I can't help but wonder if the OPs girlfriend showed him those pictures because of the rings in them, not because of the boxes.

Mine came in a simple white box without any markings and it was completely fine. OP, I really think you are over thinking the box. But good luck.
