Wedding Woes

Slipping on my positive pants

DD's neuro appointment was the least painful it's ever been. Maybe we're moving more solidly into acceptance or just more of our questions have been answered.

No screaming or crying when her head got measured. It grew a little bit! No screaming or crying for weight or length check.

Neuro is pleased with the progress she's been making. He only sees her every 6 months so it's more apparent to him than to us. She sang (sort of) and told him a story (that none of us understood but she had a great time) and she was totally engaged with him.

We won't know even an arc of her cognitive development until she's about 5 or 6 and even then it's still questionable due to neuroplasticity. The neuro told us not to hold fast to the whole "most brain development happens between birth and 3" - there has been some stomach dropping as we fast approach age 3.

All in all, she's progressing at her own rate and on her own curve but progressing none-the-less. My tiny wonder. Who likes to punch me. And then laugh about it. Until I tell her "no."

and if you tell her to do "gentle touches" she'll stroke your boobs.
