chair covers yes or no?

so i was not planing on doing table covers at all for my reception, my brother got married this past november and his chairs looked just fine without the covers. the venue i am having my reception at is offering a really good deal right now 2.00 per person vs 4.75  a person to me that is a really sweet deal we are inviting 130 people but we already know people on our list who will be declning my wedding is next summer. so that would be like less than 300 for chair covers without the covers the chairs look nice but i mean this sounds like a good deal to me.  i am on a very tight budget but i think i can get some money together for them the offer is good till the end of this month

has anyone gone without covers been to weddings with them i was at one wedding that had them but this was a wedding in a regular hall with an outside caterrer and the chairs this place had were regular folding chairs so i understood the need to cover them.

Re: chair covers yes or no?

  • If you are on a budget then forgo the chair covers.  Like you already know they really do not add anything to the over all look of your space.  Also you should always plan for 100% attendance.

We did not have chair covers.  I really wanted those nice chivari chairs but they were $8/chair.  Instead we went with folding black chairs.  You know how many pictures I have of the chairs?  3.  You know how many people complained that the chairs were not decorated?  None.  Do you know what my guests loved?  All the money I put into the food and alcohol.  Also once all the guys hung their jackets over the back of the chairs and the girls hung their purses/shawls over the chairs then the covers would have been completely pointless.

If you can scrounge up almost $300 it would be put to much better use possibly upgrading your food or adding an additional appetizer.

None of your guests will care about the chairs.  As long as they have one to sit in they won't care what color it is or if it is covered or not.  Save your money.

  • Chair covers are not necessary when the chairs look okay.

  • Nobody notices chairs. I think ours were brown, but I couldn't pick them out of a lineup.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I don't like chair covers.  My venue has beautiful chairs without covers, but I think most chairs look better without covers anyway.
  • We had them because they were included in our package otherwise I would have skipped them.

  • thanks for the suggestions. just found out that the offer is only good for new bookings and not previous ones.
  • Just to add, chair covers can be a pain to sit on too. The wedding I was at this past weekend, every time I tried to pull my chair forward or adjust my dress while sitting, the thing came loose. Whenever I returned to my seat, I had to adjust the chair cover. Annoying.  Go without when given the option.
