What do you think of Glycerine as a first dance?

I love this song. So does FI. Every time I hear it it makes me smile and think of him. But, a lot of people associate it with a doomed relationship and break ups... Sigh. It has the feel that we want but maybe not the lyrics lol

I love it. I think it would be great. Maybe just double check those lyrics and make sure it really fits well before using it

I kinda wanted to walk down the isle to "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against. That might be one to consider too (not to imply you make minimum wage, but it's a beautiful song, really).

I want to use Nothing by the Blow but I'm in the same boat, I'm worried it will sound negative to people even though it has really positive connotations to me. I'm not sure how to balance those things.

I agree. Who cares what the other interpretations are? Yours is what matters. If great aunt Mildred looks at you sideways, well doesn't she always look at someone sideways? I think it sounds great.

I can tell you right now, only a few people of a certain age will even know the song. I happen to love Glycerine, but even I barely know all the words. All of which means, most of the guests won't know what is being said anyway, definitely not the older set. Sounds like you have a song that means something to the two most important people there and everyone else is supposed to smile & clap. I have a good feeling they will do just that.
