  Ivory looks very elegant. I am sure both of you and the BM will look great.
  Are your parents more conservative as to what an evening attire should be?
  As long as you don't have a "black tie", "white tie",  or anything that suggest formal attire for your guests, the ivory suit for evening wedding is perfectly acceptable. Maybe you can offer your parent some articles like this
