So I just picked up my gown from the bridal shop today. They were really busy/not that helpful when it came to alterations. They said it would take like 6 weeks tops to get alterations done, so I need to schedule an alterations appointment asap to get what I need done, before we leave for our Midwest wedding on Sept 27th. Which is ::Gasp:: 5 weeks from now. All I need done is to get the waist of the dress taken in a little bit at the sides because I have a long torso and it doesn't hit me in the right spot.
The Biggest problem is this: The bridal shop is about 40 min from where I live, and their alterations lady is only in on M, Tu, Wed, and Fri. NO weekends! I don't want to take multiple days off of work to drive down there and get the alterations done when I need to save up my days off to get married. I typically get home around 6:30 every night and they're only open until 8pm and who knows if the alterations lady is there that late.
So the query: does anyone have any recommendations for alteration shops in the Hightstown, NJ (or 40 mile radius I don't really care how far I have to drive) area? I am about to freak out here! Help please!!! Any recommendations or advice would be helpful, I am out here on the east coast with no family around and I have no idea what I should do.
