  I personally, am not a fan of the wedding party wearing a very similar dress to the bride even if it is shortened. With that being said, I do like the dress for you. I also like the idea of doing the BM dresses in a different color. I do like both the colors. Kind of like oasis more.

  So, Huynhette, are you agreeing to the same shortened pattern but a different color for the bridesmaids in this case? Or do a totally different bridesmaid dress?

  I would think it was really weird if I went to a wedding where the bride and bridesmaids were wearing the same dress, even in different colors and lengths. That would say overly-controlling-bride to me.

  That's a pretty dress! I think you should wear the long one as your wedding dress but choose a different style for the bridesmaids. Otherwise, it might be too matchy matchy.

  I like that bridesmaid dress. I had my girls try it on but they vetoed it because none of them wanted to wear a pattern.

  
  

  Anecdote aside, I think the idea is sweet. If done right with simple accessories/flowers I think it will look very clean and modern. But you won't really stand out from your girls.

  I think that while in theory this could work, this isn't the right dress for it. The lace pattern (especially near the neckline where there is no underlying fabric) is really pretty and distinctive, so my first thought would be "that's the exact same dress" even though it may be a different color and length.
  
  This dress is gorgeous as a bridal gown though, especially outdoors. I think the bridal party could do a different dress with the same silhouette, even with the same neckline in a sheer fabric, but not the exact same dress.

  That gown is gorgeous. I do think that because the lace pattern is so distinctive, the BM dresses are too matchy matchy.

  I think the BM dress is really cute, but I'm not really a fan of it with the extra length. So I don't think they should match because the bride should stand out.

  Okay, not those, please. For your bridesmaids' sake. Infinity dresses look super cute on the models but are a nightmare in person. They don't stay put, they have less than zero support, and show every lump and bump. I have owned several over the years but ultimately had to ditch all of them when I couldn't put up with wearing any for more than 15 minutes.
