Les combat?? shakeology?

anyone ever tried???

Mine should be here tuesday!

Re: Les combat?? shakeology?

  • I do Les Mills Body Combat on the regular at my local gym. I love it! It's a fun way to get your cardio in and you are guaranteed to walk away dripping sweat. The routine changes often enough that I never get bored with it. I highly recommend.

  • I'm certified in Body Combat (that is the gym class) so I am biased, but I have heard great things about the at-home Combat.
Expect to put in effort. It's ACTUAL martial arts, which means a lot of technique.

    Shakeology is a joke IMO...
    But yay for combat! :P
  • I love Body Combat!  Between that and running I lost 15 pounds and got into incredible shape for my wedding day.  I also wore weighted gloves (nothing too crazy) but that really helped to tone my arms and back during the workout.

As for shakeology, boo, return it!

  • I'd be worried about all the "junk" in Shakeology; I don't even like to deal with protein shakes because I can't pronounce some of the ingredients.

MyFitnessPal or MyNetDiary will help you track your calories for free.
  • Hey!! I notice this post was a while ago -- did you decide on combat and/or shakeology??

I JUST ordered Combat, and it hasn't arrived yet. I am planning on starting it in September to help lean out my body after focusing on only lifting weights.I am really excited about it because I have Les Mills Pump as well on DVD. It is AWESOME!!! :) I am hoping Combat is just as good and would love your opinion!!

As for Shakeology--I have to disagree. I have drank it for 2 years and a month. I started drinking it in college because I had TERRIBLE digestion. I was on medicine for it, and I t had to switch medicines once before because the last medicine for it had been recalled due to unseen side effects. After knowing that, I started researching everything. I was tested for a gluten sensitivity, and it came back negative. All of my bloodwork showed my hormones and nutrient levels were great except for borderline cholesterol (genetic).

I researched what seemed to be every shake out there because I needed something commuter friendly for school and that would help my poor belly. Shakeology was the only one without additives and fake sugars. I ordered it because of the money back guarantee too knowing if I hated the taste or something I could send it back -- in a month, I felt so much better. When my medicine ran out, I didn't refill it and haven't looked back!! :)

Now, I drank it for my digestion but I lost my last 5lbs and my cholesterol is now normal. I totally credit it. I know it's expensive, but it's cheaper than my old medicine that caused who knows what.

Finally -- I don't know what works for EVERYONE, but I don't think anyone can do 2 shakes a day (some companies promote 2 a day but not shakeology). Focus on 1 a day and make sure you are still eating enough throughout the day to meet your calorie goal otherwise you'll hold onto weight because your body will think it's starving and want to preserve the body.

I kind of wonder if the lady on the linked post maybe had a food allergy. She may not have known it if she was adding in different foods that she hadn't had since starting shakeology. Plus anything can effect your weight -- water, hormones, stress, sleep, etc. So I'm not saying it wasn't shakeology if she thinks it was, but i think there are a LOT of other things factoring into it. I mean you wouldn't say I had an apple for 5 weeks. Stopped eating it. Then I gained 10 lbs. I should have never touched that apple?

Just my 2 cents....sorry if I rambled! :P Also, if you or anyone else does shakeology skip the greenberry. I like the chocolate or vanilla the best (not vegan).

Also--let me know what you think about combat please!! :)
  • I'm in week 3 right now of Combat. I bought the cross training DVDs of Les Mills Pump -- mixing the upper body blow out on a HIIT power day about killed me. I was so sore the next day. I really like the cardio workouts though because of the cycles you go through.

I'm also drinking Shakeology with it, but it's a personal choice :) It just works for me,
  • I love shakeology! It's all natural, gluten free, low glycemic index and it's NOT a protein shake. My favorite is chocolate with pb2 (powdered peanut butter). I haven't done Les Mills but it's going to be the one I order next. Right now I'm doing Shaun T's T25.
