Bachelorette Gift Ideas

Hey All.

I am attending a Bachelorette Party in the next couple weeks of a girl whom I've been friends with for about 8 years.

She is a very simple, not too girly girl. They are having a very country rustic themed wedding in the fall.

I have no clue what to get her for a Bachelorette gift. For me she got me some fun romance/coupon books (love lottery, etc)

She isn't the type that I could get a Victoria's Secret gift card for which is what I usually get girls. lol.

She isn't too girly the only girly thing I can think of that she is into is painting her nails and toes.

I want to get her something she will enjoy not something that will collect dust. any ideas?!

Since you say she likes her nails done- how about a gift certificate to get her nails done for the wedding? (I would ask someone in the WP though if she has any plans for this yet). Nice gesture, alleviates some wedding costs for her, something she would use.
  • Would that be over stepping on the wedding party? She only has a maid of honor, I guess I just assumed her maid of honor would want to do some of that stuff for her, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask!
  • Maybe a gift card to a restaurant
  • You could still get a gift for a mani / pedi to a local salon.  Nothing saying it has to be used for the wedding if she's getting married in the fall she may use it before (or after)!   But then if she chooses to use it for the wedding she can also do that.  If I knew that was something someone liked I'd definitely do something like that.

If not a nice bottle of wine maybe?
  • any or all of: chocolate, wine, champagne

a cute thing I saw at a previous bachelorette party was a return address stamp with the bride's future name on it

  •   a lelo. they are a little pricey but worth it. i thought bachlorette gifts were supposed to be naughty?
  • Blindfold, edible body chocolate, flavoured lube, or a 'silver bullet' are all bachelorette gifts that I would think of.  Also, sorry, but unless she only wear sports bras I don't understand why a gift card to a lingerie store wouldn't be appropriate?

  • Chip in with folks for a couple's massage or, better but pricy, a couple's salon day (XH was resistant to the pedi part....it can after a massage and bubbly spa bath....suddenly it sounded quite fine (helped too that other men were there...it was a salon on the site of our HM resort)

  • Are gifts customary at a bachelorette? I've never been to one and it would never have occurred to me a gift was required.
  • My cousin is super simple and would have been really embarrassed by "naughty" bachelorette gifts. When I went to her bachelorette I got her a satiny tank/short pj set from Victoria's. I think the salon gift card is a good idea and not stepping on any toes. She doesn't have to use it for the wedding - just to treat herself one day.

At a lot of the ones I've gone to we've done a lingerie shower - then you can buy whatever you're comfortable with, even if it's just panties or comfy pjs.

But that's always made clear that we're going to do it.

I love this!! A simple PJ set but something that isn't super girly but maybe something more girly then she would wear but still would be comfortable in and some pampering. What girl wouldn't love that.
  • Hey I went to a a fancy hotel and I was talking to this lady who purchased a 200$ credit for the bride and groom to stay in the night if their wedding. The wp all chipped in. I thought it was a cool idea.
  • I think a VS gift certificate would be fine. Even girls who aren't super girly girly wear bras, and VS does have nice, simple bras if she isn't comfortable with something racy.
  • I saw this the other day at target:

I thought it was cute and maybe doing a gift basket with it, and some other stuff?

This is so her, and if she already has one, she can always use 2

Any thoughts? or thoughts on gifts to go with it?

  • Recently, I got a friend of mine a long dress that I found in the pajama section of Target [this one: http://www.target.com/p/gilligan-o-malley-women-s-sleep-maxi-assorted-colors/-/A-14453137#prodSlot=large_1_7]. I got it a little bit on a whim because she wanted practical items for her lingerie shower and since then she said that she's excited to wear it on her honeymoon because it's comfy to get ready in and relax in the hotel in, but isn't a lacy nightie but also not basketball shorts & a tshirt that she's normally used to lounging around in. If she likes nail polish, etc. what about a gift card & "coupon" to go together for mani/pedi's?
  • Spa gift certificate and/or champagne would make almost anyone on the planet happy :)
