I'm at the end of my proverbial rope

I keep getting staph infections.  On my freaking face.  I've been to the doctor for every single one of them and followed his instructions to an absolute T.  I cannot continue to deal with this.  It's especially frustrating because I've done everything I'm supposed to do to prevent it, and it still keeps happening.  Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm asking here because I'm completely out of answers, and so is my doctor, apparently. TIA.

    You've been to your general doctor or you've been to a derm?
    If you haven't been to a derm, definitely do that.

    Or it may be time to visit an ifectious disease specialist. My dad had a recurring strep infection in his leg that nearly cost him his leg. He ended up with IV antibiotics for 2-3 months. He's fine now, but it was pretty scary at the time.

    I've only been to my GP.  I've never been to a derm before, so I'm gonna have to get the GP to rec one when I go tomorrow. I had three infections back to back in the month of August and my GP told me the next step was IV antibiotics at a derm's office.  So yeah. No one is getting any Christmas presents this year, as I'll probably spend all my Christmas money on this nastyass stuff.

    Thanks Sara.  I'm not gonna get my hopes up on the cheap thing.  The good news is, after three of these things and a round of the flu, I've almost hit the deductible on my health insurance.  So maybe it won't be so bad.
