Where to Stay?

We booked our ceremony at the Chapel of Flowers on a weekend in May 2014. We are looking for 1 or 2 hotels to suggest for our guests to stay. Some have children, so a pool, maybe some activities, and low-to-no cigarette smell would be ideal. Also a place that wouldn't break the bank (Maybe average $100 per night?) The second hotel would need to be relatively close. Any suggestions?

Oh, and how far in advance do you book your rooms? Do the hotels offer group discounts even if we are not getting married in the place? I appreciate any feedback.

Re: Where to Stay?

  • Golden Nugget downtown is not far from there, typically very good rates, my recommendation would be the Rush Tower, it's non-smoking and pretty new, the other towers are very old.  It's only a mile drive.  They have a crazy pool with three story water slide.

Other than that Mandalay Bay at the very distant other end of the strip mostly because of the beach, wave pool, lazy river, etc. all of which kids love.

    Maybe Flamingo mid-strip.

All are going to smell like smoke in the casino areas unfortunately.

  • I 2nd Golden Nugget, the pool is so much fun! The water slide goes thru a shark tank! Rush tower is also very nice. Non-smoking places would be Trump and Signature, but they are going to be a bit more than $100 a night. You could always the call the hotel about group rates, there should be a small groups coordinator they can put you in touch with.

  • The Signature on the other end of the strip is non-smoking and has their own pools, but then you can also use the MGM pools as well.
  • Another option is Elara or Marriott Grand Chateau both non smoking and you could probably get good group rates at both properties. You will probably have to arrange transportation to the CoF though.

  • Awesome! The Golden Nugget was on my list, so I really appreciate all the feedback.
  • Vegasgroom: Thank you for your suggestion. I booked a block of rooms at the Golden Nugget today!
