Green Bay Ceremony Site

Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to have our wedding ceremony. I am catholic and my fiancé is non-denominational. It would have to be somewhere that did not require he convert.

Re: Green Bay Ceremony Site

  • How many guests?

Do you want a Catholic wedding?  FI does not need to convert for a Catholic wedding.  If your FI is a non-Catholic Christan you just need "permission to enter into a mixed marriage", and I think a parish priest can do this.  If your FI is non-Christan than you need "dispensation from disparity of cult", it's given by the Bishop and from the way our priest talked it was just paperwork between the priest and Bishop.  Was you FI ever baptised?  My FI is not a faith person per say, but was baptised as a baby.  Just because he was baptised he is automatically seen as a Catholic and saves us paperwork.

I stated in your other post it's important to say within the rules of the Catholic church if you want your marriage to be recognized by the church (totally personal choice on your part and no right or wrong answer).  It's hard to have a marriage outside of a church but not impossible.  You can get married at a non-denominational church with a Catholic priest present and it can be recognized by the church.  A priest would be best to talk to about this route.

Church wise when were you looking at doing your wedding?  I know Milwaukee churchs book dates over a year out.  If you're going outside of a church I don't know Green Bay well but maybe just have the ceremony wherever you choose to do your reception?

  • He has been baptized, he is Christian just not Catholic. We are in the air about a catholic wedding, I clearly would be ok with it while I do not believe he would like a full blown Catholic wedding since he is not Catholic per say. We are getting married this upcoming June 2014. Our reception hall does not offer ceremony site also. We would like to be in the green bay area.
  • You'd have to find your own officiant, but we are doing Heritage Hill off of Webster. They have a gazebo or a church that is part of the park. If you've never heard of it, its an old historical park of settlers in Green Bay.

  • We did check them out, they have our day booked already. Does anyone know of a church in the area that would allow us to be married, since we are both Christians but not have the traditional Catholic Ceremony?

  • We are getting married at the Green Bay Bridal Church on Cherry Street. No denomination, and no questions regarding it. I would look into that if you haven't and are interested. They can provide an officant for you if you need one or you can use your own.
  • There is Sepia Wedding Chapel on Finger Rd (off East Mason).  It is a non-denominational.
