Which veil should I take?

When I first envisioned myself as a bride I never really thought I'd get a veil. But going through all these bridal magazines and website's I'm beginning to feel that it would be something missing. The thing is, I can't really judge if my dress is veil-proof and if so what kind of veil I should take?

Re: Which veil should I take?

  • Your dress is very beautiful!  I'm of the opinion that a veil is 100% optional and up to the bride's preference.  If you notice, the model in the picture isn't wearing a veil -- do you think she looks like she's missing something?  Don't forget bridal magazines and websites are trying to sell you on what your wedding/attire/etc should be.
  • The dress is amazing and you can wear many different styles with it. I would recommend when you pick up your dress or go in for a fitting, ask them to bring in several different styles & lengths and see which one you like best with the dress. Only thing I would avoid is one that has too much lace on it as I think that would compete too much with your dress.
  • Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind to try on some veils when I go in for a fitting and see how it goes. If I feel comfortable wearing one or not.
  • I think you could rock the dress sans veil, but if you want to wear one (and if it goes along with your style) you could always wear a birdcage veil. To me they are simpler, smaller, yet classy.
  • The dress is great but if you want to go with the tradition, you might consider a short and simple veil. Such veil can still boost the attractive design of your dress. You can also go without any veil and design your hair extravagantly nice which is best suited for the dress.
