Anything similar to The Skylands Manor?

We went to see the Skylands Manor in Ringwood yesterday and it brought tears to my eyes.  I loved it!  Only thing we didn't like was how the cocktail hour would be setup in 5-6 different rooms and the ballroom looked like it would be tight for 200 guests.

Is there anything out there similar in look to the Skylands Manor?

We've been to Pleasantdale Chateau, but we can't afford $325pp.

Thank you!

  • Check out Rutherfurd Hall in Allamuchy. I'm not sure what the layout is like, but it looks beautiful. I think Frungillos also does the catering.

  • Did you try a Friday night @ Pleasandale or a Sunday afternoon? That makes it more affordable. If you are set on a Saturday, it definitely brings the price up - a LOT.
Florentine Gardens is nice too - but I think it is pricey too . I would love to hear what you end up deciding!! Good Luck!

  • I love Skylands Manor. I know someone who went to a wedding there with about 190 people and they thought it was too tight. Good luck!
  • This may not be helpful to you if you don't like the idea of the multiple room CH, but my bf  (soon to be fiance, I think!) and I attended a wedding there last March (2012) and absolutely loved it.  I actually found the idea of having all those rooms really unique and interesting, particularly since there's so much character there.  There's a lot to see and the grounds are beautiful. In fact, SO and I attended 7 weddings last year and that was one of our favorites!
  • I agree with Irish - Pleasantdale Chateau on  Friday or Sunday and you can negotiate as well.
  • Palace at Somerset Park?
  • A friend of mine just went to a wedding at Holly Hedge. She said the place was beautiful. It's in PA so I'm not sure how far you would like to travel. The website doesn't appear to have many photos but you could google some weddings there. http://www.hollyhedge.com/1HollyHedge/weddings.html . I've also heard the Park Savoy is very nice and has good food. http://www.theparksavoy.com/ There are two places I was going to look at (but never got to because the venue we chose won us over when we walked into the room) called Florentine Gardens and the other was The Grand Colonial. http://www.florentinegardens.com/ http://www.grandcolonialnj.com/ Good luck with your planning!
