My fiance and I were talking the other night about the tables at our reception. We were thinking instead of using numbers, we could change it up and maybe 'name' each table after a city that we've been to together throughout the course of our relationship. I have heard nightmare stories about people getting offended that they were sitting at table 19 out of 20 tables. We were thinking of possibly setting up the escort card table in a way to slightly resemble Monopoly (We were gonna call it Notopoly - my new name will be 'Noto.') We were thinking of writing somewhere on the table that they are going to play a brief game of our version of Monopoly and 'Go directly to' one of the cities that we've visited.
We are not giving our wedding a Monopoly theme. We want a very elegant and tasteful wedding.... we just thought it would be a fun way to incorporate a part of our life into the wedding a little bit while also not offending anyone with a table number. Is there a 'cute yet classy' way to go about this idea? Is it a bad idea?
Thoughts and opinions appreciated!
