Ring-warming ceremony

Has anyone done this (passing rings around to guests to make a blessing/prayer before you exchange rings)? I love the idea, but am worried it will take too long with about 130-150 people. Any ideas on how long it will take or ways to tweak it to save time! Thanks!

Re: Ring-warming ceremony

  • Can it begin at the beginning of your ceremony?

Yes I would want it to start at the beginning, just not sure of the average time it takes
  • Just do immediate family & have them in the first few pews? After all, they are the ones who are welcoming him into the family.
  • Sounds like a great idea, we just did the basics in our wedding (blessing of the rings) but this sounds beautiful!
  • My finance and I were thinking about doing a ring warming as well, but were afraid of the time factor too. We decided to just do the bridal party and parents, since they will all be close by. We also considered having the ushers hold the rings so guests could give their blessings as the entered the ceremony so that everyone doesn't have to do it at the same time.
