So after you're pronounced husband and wife..

..where do/did you GO?  More pointedly, where do/did you stop?

I don't know if that makes sense, so I'll try to clarify, haha.  This has been bugging me, probably because the last wedding I went to wasn't exactly the most shining example.  I've since realized that I never really noticed where the bride and groom go once they make the walk back up the aisle as husband and wife.  I've just kind of been thinking about where we.. go.. once the ceremony is over.  Where are you guys planning on stopping after you proceed back up the aisle?  Or for those already on the other side, how did this work for you?  Maybe this doesn't even apply in my case since my guest list is so small and it will likely be standing-room-only so to speak.  I know some of you ladies get married in some pretty unique places outdoors and also with guest lists trending toward the smaller end on the spectrum, so I'm still curious at any rate.  Maybe our families will make this moot and intercept us with hugs and happiness after it's all over so I won't even need to worry about it, hah.  TIA!

  • I am going straight to the hotel and starting the honey moon! My wedding is November 23 on Miami Beach about 50 people, light refreshments. Everyone else can do their own thing, from the mommnt the pictures are wrapped up, its all about US!!
  • Well with our wedding we walked down the aisle took a picture and included in our wedding package was a champagne toast for us and the wedding guests so we all mingled there at the end of the aisle before some pictures! It will go however you want it to go!

  • We never really "went" anywhere.  We kissed and our guests showered us with beach balls as we stood right at the alter.  Right after that, we were seated for the signing of the documents (me my husband and our chosen witnesses) and then everyone, guests and wedding party included moved to the beach (from the gazebo) for a group shot.  After that we sort of had to mingle on our own while the reception area was being set up (well, finished...we had massive amounts of rain that delayed things a bit and also made it so we had to change our location for the ceremony and reception).  While we mingled we took more photos with our guests and then everyone was taken to the reception site.  They wedding coordinator made sure we hung back so that we could "make our entrance".  It was very nice and laid back.

  • We walked back down the aisle, over to the side bar where the coordinator had champagne waiting for us and the wedding party and then we signed the license. Then everyone went out for cocktails at the main bar while H and I went for some more pictures.
  • Depends on how formal your wedding is - I've attended formal weddings where the bride and groom will stop at the end of the aisle and start bridal party will start forming the reception line after them.
