No centerpieces... ok?

okay, my wedding is in 6 weeks.. I've got very limited decor as the restaurant we will be eating at is beautiful already. Would guests realize that I don't have centerpieces since the tables will have candles lit on them? I'm trying to cut cost.. but wondering if no centerpieces will look tacky....

    As long as there's food and booze, I wouldn't be paying attention to centerpieces. I mean, you're at a restaurant. I think people will understand it's not necessary to temporarily decorate a restaurant table.

    If the tables will have candles on them and it's in a restaurant, I think that'll be fine.

    I too did a restaurant reception and skipped the centerpieces.  When they found out it was for a wedding, they put out their "night" centerpieces (candles and roses in vases).

    It was free and worked just fine.

    No one is going to shun you or anything.  But, I tried to forgo them and my "mama" would not let me.  She said the table has to have them.  Haha.

    My GF had very cheap $1 vases from Ikea with one gerbera daisy and a couple shot glasses filled with those marble like rocks, then a tea light on top (we took the tealight out of the foil holder first).  Very inexpensive and very simple and very pretty.

    If you're trying to cut costs, you're doing it the right way. Especially in a restaurant. Unless your tables look horribly empty (which it doesn't sound like they will) then I'd assume you'd skip centrepieces in a restaurant anyway.

    That's fine. I did very simple centerpieces of a glass vase, tumbled beach glass in the bottom, and leeks. Not typical, and very fitting for the "foodies" that my husband and I are.

    Candles are your centerpieces.  It isn't like the table is going to be bare in the middle.  Centerpieces don't have to be in vases or floral in nature.

    Sounds good to me.  We did our reception at a restaurant and had candles plus simple roses on each table (the restaurant provided the roses as part of our package).
