Outdoor Ceremony Ideas Appreciated (Bride’s Grand Entrance)

We were thinking of getting married at this park and it’s great because it’s not a “park” park—it’s mainly used for wedding ceremonies and there are so many great views from the location.  The problem I’m running into, though, is that there isn’t  a set place for the bride to make her grand entrance.  To be more specific--there isn't a way to "hide" the bride and give that special & dramatic entrance effect that you'd normally get if you were being married at a church or indoor venue (where they can close the doors after the WP enters and pause before the bride walks down the aisle).   So, I was wondering if anyone could help provide any ceremony ideas. Have any of you seen any outdoor ceremony sites set up in a way that the bride is hidden before she walks down the aisle? Even if we had some sort of done-up archway w/ drapes or something to hide me right before I walk down the aisle, since it's an open setting they'd see me as I walked up to the archway--which is what I don't want to happen. Anyway, I'd love to hear any of your great ideas and welcome your suggestions! Thanks Knotties!!! =)

Re: Outdoor Ceremony Ideas Appreciated (Bride’s Grand Entrance)

  • I have the same issue. The only idea I have been able to come up with so far is to rent lots of big potted plants like cedars or flowering bushes and line them up on either side of the pathway that I will walk in on. I would like some other ideas though...
  • Who says you can't bring your own doors! I've been researching the same issue and one idea I like was to have 2 buff men, possibly your ushers if they aren't groomsmen, carry 2 doors (barn doors etc) in front of you so no one will be able to see you as you walk towards the aisle, and then they remove them when you enter!
  • One of my mom's cousins arrived at her outdoor wedding in a horse-drawn carriage, which they then also used for a grand exit. But generally, the grand entrance is something you have to give up a little bit when you get married outside. People will be looking toward the front until it's time for you to walk anyway, so it's not like they'll be staring at you.

  • @knotporscha, more zombie threads.

Any progress on getting these permanently closed for discussion? (i.e. information only?)

  • @itzMs There's currently no automatic switch for this, but I will keep closing manually in the mean ttime.
