Where to stay in Costa Rica

We're planning on staying in Costa Rica for 10 days in January. We're also hoping to stay at more than one location during our time there.

Any hotel or b&b recommendations that are under $300 per night?

Thanks!

Re: Where to stay in Costa Rica

  • Nayara Hotel near the Arenal Volcano!  I think it is roughly $250/night and is amazing.  We actually booked one of their packages and started our honeymoon here.  We'd definitely return to this hotel.  We then went over to the Pacific coast.  We stayed at the JW Marriott.  It was nice but really there only thing to do right there is sit by the pool/ocean.  You can book excursions with them.
  • we're honeymooning in costa rica in february and staying at the marriott in los suenos. we chose it over the jw in guanacaste for the reason that @molly&andy mentioned.

  • Thanks for the suggestions!

  • You will find lots for under $300 a night. I would suggest getting the Frommer's guide and you will find some amazing place.  There are so many boutique hotels, and unique places to stay that you don't necessarily need to stay at a big chain.
  • Manuel Antonio is great.  I was not there on a honeymoon but friends and I stayed at Villas Nicolas and it was great.  I wouldn't stay in Jaco or Puntarenas.  Montezuma was small hippie kind of town which is fun for a night.
  • did anyone book there honeymon here? i am thinking about it to but want an all inclusive
  • We are going in November for our honeymoon! I can't recommend on experience since we haven't been yet but I did quite a bit of research and we ended up booking 3 nights at Nayara near Arenal and then 4 nights at Oxygen Jungle Villas in Uvita, south of Manuel Antonio. I'm hoping they are as great as the reviews and photos make them out to be!
