At home celebrations

Is anyone doing an at home celebration after your return from your wedding? I am at a toss up for this and just looking to see other people's ideas on what they are doing. :)

Re: At home celebrations

  • We might do a family BBQ at his parents house for those that can't make it to the wedding.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • We are having a big party the Saturday after we get married.

  • We want to have ours at this upscale bowling alley we love but the event manager called me today to say they've been bought out, which means there will be a reno in the near future. He's hoping to have more info in a couple of weeks.
  • We are doing a cake and punch reception and dance 3 weeks after we get home. I have a large family, there was no option not too.

  • All of these sound like fun ideas!
  • We're having a reception about a month after we get home. Again, big family and not very many of them are able to come to vegas.

  • We're having a large wedding in Vegas (175-200) so we'll just bring photos at the holidays to show folks who couldn't make it and are interested.  If we'd opted for a small wedding we'd have planned to do BBQs in our hometowns after.
  • Our wedding in Vegas is small, so we're having a 'home' reception when we get back to the UK (two days after we get back!) which will be almost 3 weeks after the wedding. We've hired out a function room at a local hotel for a fairly typical buffet/band/drinks/dancing/cake thing. We will also have a slideshow of our wedding/honeymoon photos on the projector screen, and at some point we will show the DVD of our ceremony :)
