Diamond Candles

I just found out there is a legitimate company selling candles that melt to reveal a ring of mystery value.

Re: Diamond Candles

  • I question the legitimacy of this company. Do link, though.

  • And they expect people to wait for the thing to melt before finding out what the ring is?  Yeah, my ass would be cracking into that candle without even lighting the damn thing.  And with my luck I would just pull out a ring pop, which I would be fine with.

I also particularly enjoy the way you can't purchase according to ring size. Also, most of the rings I have seen are hideous. I really hope girls over the age of 13 are not actually walking around wearing these fake purple heart-shaped gemstone rings they got out of a candle.

LOL - I just watched the promotional video on the "about us" page. There's a pile of crappy, vending machine rings and then they show one diamond ring coming out of a nice box. Great odds....

    ETA: spelling is hard.

  • Could be fun. Kind of like cracker-jack prizes. Hope the candles actually smell good.
  • A coworker of mine ordered a few as gifts.  I remember them not smelling very good.  She also said she might just dig thru one to see what the ring looks like lol.

Next time she walks past my desk I'll ask her about them.

  • I received one for my bridal shower last year. The ring was super cheesy/cheap and huge but the scent is delicious!! It is a cute idea for an instance like how I relieved mine but I hate to think of how much they mark up the candle for the ring worth $1,$10,even $1000! Ha

  • I kinda want to register for one... I'd never ever buy one for myself, but I'm curious to see if someone else would buy it for me, lol.

  • My mom bought one, I think it was the gingerbread one. They smell nice enough. Her ring wasn't a good one, but it wasn't a gaudy purple heart either. I also ordered her two for her as her Christmas and birthday present, so they made my shopping easier this year.

  • I keep seeing this pop up on my facebook and thought about getting one just for S&Gs.  They say the rings are worth $10+, but are the candles worth $15?  I couldn't find how big they actually are.

  • Part of me has wanted to buy one of these since I saw them on Pintrest.

  • I got one simply because I love bling. And I was happy with it. It smells wonderful, the ring is pretty although it's a cheap fake, it fits and it was purple. I've burned it about 60ish hours already and still have a couple inches left. For the candle alone I'm planning to buy another. But I don't really expect to get one of the real rings, so I'm content with my fake bling.
  • If the candle smells amazing, I guess it's not outrageous since Yankee Candles sell for similar prices.

If you girls could start your own company that sells candles with something hidden inside, what would it be? I think I'd sell Drunk Candles. Inside every candle would be a mini bottle containing alcohol. Most of it would be well liquor, except for the top shelf gems in the occasional candle.

I would buy your candle.  Possible exploding decorative molotov cocktails be damned.

  • I bought one a while back - it was ok (the candle).

I found a different company, 3-8-1 candles that is much nicer.  The candles are amazing and the jewelry that is inside them is better.

  • Thanks for the size & time comparison guys :)

I'll have to check out one or both of these companies in the near future.

An interesting thought (er, not the drunk candle part, unless you like exploding candles).  I'm thinking about starting to make candles in addition to my soap and body products.

  • I read this article yesterday (I hate to admit it but shark tank is a guilty pleasure of mine! Ha) and the second worst pitch reminded me if this thread.

What man would want his place to smell like fart?! It seem gimicky kind of like how I feel these candles are.
