Madison Hotel Conservatory Guest Capacity

Hi!  Has anyone had over 140 guests at their reception in the Conservatory at the Madison Hotel?  They claim that with a dance floor, it can fit up to 150 guests, but I don't want it to be cramped.  If anyone had over 140 people in the Conservatory, please let me know if it was too tight.  Thank you!

I was never there for a wedding but I toured the venue. My fiancé and I have a guest list around that size too and we felt it was too small for us. We saw it set up for around 120 and they showed us where they could squeeze more tables. Unfortunately we felt it was going to be tighter than we would have liked. They did provide us with the option of a Friday wedding where our ceremony could be held in the conservatory and the reception would be in the ballroom. We thought that was a nice idea because we would be able to use the conservatory. I would suggest seeing the room yourself so you can see what the room is currently set up for and then you will have a better idea. Hoped that helped and good luck!

  • It's not very big.  We were in the ballroom that can hold 350 comfortably.
  • I was my friends MOH there a couple of years ago and I believe she had 160 at her wedding. It didn't feel cramped at all. Especially once we were all on the dance floor. It was a great wedding.
  • I was at a wedding with just about 100 there.  It felt comfortable at that level, but I can't imagine 40% more tables and chairs and 40% more people on the dance floor.  Maybe use the conservatory for your ceremony and move into one of the larger ballrooms for the reception.
  • with a higher capacity they just lose the bar space.  So the bar ends up above on the stairs.
