paper printer

Hey guys,

I am fortunate to have a friend that is designing my invitations based on whatever I find that I like online, my only question is, is this really cost effective? Have any of you designed your own and just had them printed instead of paying per suite? If it makes sense to be doing it this way, does anyone have suggestions on printing companies that will do this? I know places like Kinkos won't do the printing in the event that they screw up...

I did! Go to The Printer's Place in Montclair! We had someone design and print our save the dates and thank yous- 100 of each. Their printer charged us $300 to print 200 cards! After I met with Mike at the Printer's Shop and he told me we got ripped off, we were able to argue it down to $200.
Mike  printed our entire invitation suite for $375. We ordered 200 invites, reception cards, rsvp cards, response envelopes, and outer envelope return addresses- all in thermography.  I loved him. I'm not a graphic designer and had never done anything like this before, but he was so patient and walked me through everything. I would recommend him to everyone! He was great!

Tell him I said hi! I'm sure he misses me! Our e-mail string had about 75 messages tied to it!

Darn! Where were you when I needed to find a thermographer?  I ended up sending my design out to Checkerboard and paid considerably more for thermography on invites that I designed myself!  :-b
