Royal Prestige Honeymoon Package????

Just got a phone call claiming my FH and I won a trip to the Bahamas from Royal Prestige's Dinner for 2. I have read online some older posts that this is a scam, but then checked the BBB and they have an A+ rating, so has anyone actually been able to take their honeymoon through them without buying something?

Re: Royal Prestige Honeymoon Package????

  • HOLD UP FOLKS!! Hear me out. My name is Cathrin. I'm 30yrs old and I'm a stay-at-home-mom/tattoo artist. You can look me up on Facebook if you want. In no way, shape, or form do I now or have I ever worked for this company or any company associated with them. BTW I fully intend to repost this on any thread I find regarding Royal Prestige or Dinner 4 Two.
My husband and I got the same call that most everyone did. They offered a 3 day 2 night stay in the Bahamas and 2 free rings through JVL Jewelry and all we had to do was watch the Royal Prestige presentation. The rep specifically told us to leave the wallet at home because she didn't want us to feel pressured to buy anything.
We went to the presentation. The salesman's name was Chanse. He worked out of Nashville. He was absolutely HILARIOUS! I'd love to be best friends with that guy. He was just that cool. We actually talked about tattoos after the presentation, but thats another story.
So anyway, he showed us how the cookware works. He showed us the china and the crystal glasses and the stainless steel spoons. He explained all the free gifts. And at the end of the show, we ate the little samples of the food. Then everyone decided whether they wanted to buy the product or not. With all of the gifts that were being thrown in for free, (some of which we've already taken advantage of) we decided to go ahead and get the 7 piece cookware set. We also got the china and 4 glasses.
That night, when we got home, we ordered the 2 free rings from JVL Jewelry. There was a shipping fee, just like Chanse told us there would be. We paid it, got the rings less than a week later.
Shortly thereafter, we received the cookware. Pretty, shiny, heavy as ****. My brother and one of the guys from my church even went so far as to bang the china plate on the wall like the salesman had done during the presentation. Not so much as a scratch :)
Over the course of the next week, I read through the care and instructions book twice, just to make sure I understood everything.
Since then, I've made pork chops and chicken with no oil or grease or sauce in the pan. Followed the instructions and guess what??? IT DIDN'T STICK! Shocking, right? I made mashed potatoes without boiling them. I used the smaller dutch oven and lid with the small strainer. The potatoes are so much tastier this way.... Tonight, I made a 2.5lb pot roast, complete with onions, garlic, potatoes and carrots. Followed the instructions and actually used the recipe in the cookbook they sent with it and guess what??? It was completely cook, tender and juicy and friggin' delicious, from start to finish, in 1 hour. ONE HOUR. I kid you not.
Everything worked the way Chanse said it would. EXACTLY the way he said it would. I've run those pans through the dishwasher. They come out just as perfect as the day we got them. The little whistles on the tops of the lids even whistle at me when they're supposed to. And do you know, within that first 3 days after we placed the order, you know the 3 day grace period they give you to cancel the order if you change your mind, I called the Viva Wyndham Resort (I even made sure to get the corporate phone number online) and I verified that the 3 day 2 night stay in the Bahamas (which our salesman actually increased to a 5 day 4 night stay) was actually a legitimate offer. You have to pay a tax fee because its outside the US (just like Chanse said warned us we would when we bought the stuff) but everything else is free. EVERYTHING. Meals, activities, drinks, GRATUITIES, all of it! Its literally all inclusive, and it is free with the promotion we got for buying the cookware.
So, all that being said, I fail to see where the scam is.... It sounds more to me like people either weren't using the cookware right or they had a bad salesman. Ours gave us the phone number to their office in Nashville. I've called and talked to him since then to ask questions. Its real, people. You can look me up on Facebook if you want in order to prove that I am who I say I am. Send me a friend request. I don't mind. Message me on here and I'll give you my name so you can find me on there.
Just thought you guys might like to know whats up ^_^

  • Okay I don't know whether to believe it's a scam or not. But I recieved a phone call yesterday, they haven't called me  a bunch just once. Our appt is for today if we have to sit through a 90 min presentation to get some free stuff and a honeymoon yeah it's worth it. We are NOT bringing our wallets with us seeing as we are broke enough as is. They can't force you to buy anything if they said no cost then no cost it is and I am not going to buy anything. If we end up having to pay a bunch of money in the end it's this simple ladies...walk out the door. Anyways my fiance and I are going to the presentation today so I will comment later and let you know if it was truly a scam or not so people can stop with this it's a scam! Or no it's legit! I will let you know for sure.

  • Okay.
My fiance and I went today. The guy was nice. He was sort of funny. The cookware presentation was well done. It took 40 minutes longer than they said it would. He ended with a big pitch about a one time price which actually turned out to be a one time free add on of a knife set, stainless steel baking set or 4 place settings of dishes, glasses and flatware.

The stuff is nice, and the warranty was pretty convincing (50 years), but I already have stainless steel pampered chef pots and pans so we bought nothing. We got to choose either 3 day, 2 nights at an all inclusive or $800 gift card for a website that sells wedding bands. We chose the vacation, because we don't need the wedding band gift card. If we had bought something (We didn't and we definitely weren't hassled, but we did have to tell the guy one on one after the presentation we didn't want anything.) we got both.

The catch is, there are taxes we'll have to pay at the tune of $39 per night. He informed us that we could add extra nights at a discount if we want. There is also a $100 deposit, but we get that back. There are a few different destinations to choose from and we are responsible for our own travel. It will be a while before we actually take advantage, but hopefully I will remember to get back here and comment when we do.

I was very skeptical, and no, I don't think we were a super lucky couple that got drawn out of millions of names to win a contest (there were 10 or so couples in the same presentation as us), but it will definitely be worth the couple of hours it cost us on a sunday afternoon to take off together later on.
  • I just went to the bridal show last night.  The cookware was very nice and also very expensive (which I expected).  My fiance and I did not make any purchase with the company.  We still received the free products, just like they said we would. The sales pitch was very good, but once we told him that we was not interested, he did not try to pressure us at all. He was very honest and said that we did have to pay for shipping and handling for the free champagne flutes and taxes and airfare for the trip.  I'm wanting to know if someone has ACTUALLY used the trip?  If so, how was it?  How expensive was airfare?  I can tell that several people are upset because they overspent on cookware.  I hate that you have had bad experiences, but I did not have a problem with the bridal show at all.  I'm just curious about the honeymoon.  Thanks in advance!
  • Just got the call as well, spent and hour gushing to my mom and then looked it up. Seems like 50% say scam and they other 50% says yes you have to sit through a cookware lecture, but you get your free stuff in the end. My appt is on Friday. Should I go, or no?
  • my sister and husband took the honeymoon from here and ejoyed it!!
  • I got a call from them last night saying I won a bridal package for me and my Fianceé will repost if we get it :-)
  • I got the same call. Who has actually went on the vacation?
  • i am going to one tomorrow... anyone sold on it yet? i am trying to get off work early to go but dont want to if its not worth it

  • I just received a call and am scheduled to go to the meeting tomorrow at 11. Has anyone actually ever been on the honeymoon package that they offer??? I'm not finding ANYTHING positive online and really don't want to waste my time. Help!!
  • I received the phone call last night and have an appointment for tomorrow night. I guess we're going, I'll post back and let you all know how it went.
  • We watched the presentation and we loved the pots and pans so we got them.  I LOVE them and they are as good as they say they are for sure.
It isn't a scam.  They don't at all pressure you to buy anything.
