Vistaprint Postcards

FI and I are starting to make the final decisions regarding STDs. We decided to use Vistaprint postcards and we have our design finalized. We haven't calculated out prices for once discounts have been found, and there is a lot to consider when doing so (what discounts we can find, what aspects of the order they will apply to, etc.). We would appreciate any input on the following things:

80 lb glossy or 130 lb glossy? Does it make enough difference to save the money?

Mailing service? Is it worth it to have Vistaprint mail the postcards, or does it not really save any money? I'm thinking that a discount may be able to be applied to the mailing service, but not to shipping and stamps if I did that myself. But having them do it is so impersonal. Thoughts would be appreciated.

Finally, I know that Vistaprint occasionally has 100 postcards available for free. Do you know how frequently this happens? If we were able to get that kind of deal, that would be awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Vistaprint Postcards

  • I bought the 130 lb glossy for my Vistaprint STDs, and was really pleased.  We bought the oversized postcards, which took a regular stamp instead of postcard stamp.  I had a groupon which was expiring (here's a link to buy one), so I ordered mine about 3 months before we wanted to send them out.

  • I 2nd the 130lb. It feels so much sturdier. I only needed 30 cards, so I purchased 3 sets of postcard samples (they bring 10 each). They were only $3 a set with free shipping. It would have been way more expensive for us to buy the 100 + shipping.

  • Has anyone gotten the 80 lb and specifically noticed poor/good quality? And any input on the mailing service?

  • I just ordered and sent out my std postcards from vistaprint. I don't remember if what I ordered was specifically 80 lb glossy, but it was the cheapest option they had, so I'm assuming it was 80 lb. They turned out great. Not super sturdy, but they served their purpose, as they all got to their destination. No complaints here. I also got them during a sale so they were 40% off. Just wait (if you can) and they'll email you some kind of deal.
