Ladies, I need suggestions for rehearsal dinner locations!

Something not too pricey. I called bucca di beppo but I'm not looking to spend $35 a person! The only other place I have called is Schmidts in German Village- much more reasonably priced at $17-20 a person but I'd like to know my options! Any suggestions? Location isn't too much of a factor as long as it's around the columbus area. Thanks! :)

  • We used Schmidt's - can't say enough about how great it is :-)

  • Does it need to be in a restaurant? And how many people are you expecting?

We aren't having attendants other than our nieces as flower girls and one nephew as a ring bearer. My fiance's family is smaller, so even if we tried to keep it to bridal party plus close family, we would either be inviting all of his aunts, uncles and cousins and none of mine and still have over 20 people. So instead of a more formal rehearsal dinner, we are having what we are calling a welcome celebration (except for our parents very briefly, our families have never met due to us living in a different city from everyone in the family) and inviting everyone attending the wedding at a candy and gift shop in Clintonville called Moxie's. There is a rental fee associated with the rooms, but it includes table linens,  nice chiavari chairs and the owner Mary is the nicest, most helpful person.
  • We used Hubbard Grille in the Short North. They have a minimum, but we easily met it with 35 guests. We had the entire upstairs blocked off just for us- bar area included for 3 hours and our guests raved about it. The food was absolutely fabulous, the atmosphere was perfect, and the staff were gracious and amazing. Valet Parking is pretty much necessary. I think it was ~$6.00/car. I was okay with that b/c short north parking isn't easy and the valet costs were totally worth it.
  • Moxie's looks nice! Are you providing dinner there? or what are your plans for the welcome celebration?

    I will check out hubbard's :)
  • My MOH had us all dine at Spaghetti Warehouse downtown, and it was awesome! Alcohol as extra, but the environment of that place is so fun and you get all the warm, sourdough bread you can eat:)
  • My MOH is having my bridal shower in Westerville at Giammarco's (Italian).  They have a party room and family style with two entrees is $17ish.  I think they have a minimum order but I'm not sure what it is because they waived it for her.

  • We are either going to have the caterer for the wedding do a drop off or get some catering trays through the Giant Eagle Marketplace at Moxie's. She does have a private chef she can recommend to cater there, but our group was a little too large for him.
  • We are doing ours at The Boathouse at Confluence Park.  I'm not sure of the cost, as my fiance's mom took care of the planning and contract portion of the night, but it's beautiful and you should look into it!
  • My MOH is having my shower at Giammarco's in Westerville.  The per person price is reasonable for family style and they have a private room.
