Wedding Photographer HELP PLEASE

So, I got engaged close to two years before we planned on getting married (engaged 2012, getting married early 2014)..  Within 6 months of getting engaged, I've booked a photographer and a DJ.  I am extremely happy with DJ and see his work constantly as he updates his facebook.  However, I'm growing concerned that my photographer hasn't posted any weddings for the year 2013.  I sent him an email asking him if he was still doing weddings, but I'm afraid this whole thing is rubbing me the wrong way.  Our deposit was $800.  Should I consider cancelling?  I have close to six months before the wedding now, and if I do need to cancel, I'd like to before I run out of time!

    Have you heard back from the photographer?  I wouldn't consider cancelling just yet.  Why don't you reach out to your photographer again and see if you can set up a meeting with them?  Plan to talk to them about your upcoming wedding and ask to see some of their recent work.  This may help to put your mind at ease.

    There could be any number of reasons that they haven't posted anything new.  Including the possibility that they're just too busy working.

    It's still worth asking about.  If they don't answer your e-mail, I'd be concerned.  Otherwise not.

    I wouldn't worry but it's worth just asking. Like a PP said, they could just be busy with work that FB has fallen to the side for a while. I'd rather my photographer be busy shooting weddings than posting on FB! But if you are really concerned it's worth just asking about! If they stopped doing weddings, I would assume your deposit would be refunded.

    As scary as it sometimes photographers are doing the work but not posting it to social media sites and now that so many are it makes those that don't look like they aren't reputable. Who are you using maybe we could be of help!?
