Inviting Plus Ones

Hello. I know it's not mandatory etiquette-wise for all single guests to be invited with a plus one, but since they will be traveling a bit of a distance to attend my out-of-country wedding I thought it would be polite to extend a plus one to all my single guests, as they may wish to bring a travel companion. Of course those in relationships will be invited with their partner. What do you think? Polite or excessive?

Polite. We are doing this too for our destination wedding. We really want our single friends there and I know I'd be more willing to travel if I could bring someone along!

It would be excessive to allow them a posse. Allowing them a plus one is polite and nice.

Very polite! For all our guests that are single we have extended a guest invite. Every one of them has thanked us for it and were really happy about it.

If you can afford it, I think it is appreciated and makes guests more comfortable, especially since they are traveling.
