Is it OK to have an unbalanced wedding party?

My fiancee is kind of like the guy from that movie "I Love You, Man". He doesn't have many close guy friends and the ones he does consider friends are flaky and unreliable. So far he hasn't been able to come up with groomsmen except for maybe his dad. I'm having five bridesmaids. Lately he's been stressing out over his inability to find groomsmen. Is it OK to have an unbalanced wedding party or should I (gasp!) ask some of my bridesmaids to step down in order to balance it out?

    Why are people so concerned with old threads? People obviously still have questions about the topic which is why they're still posting in them...

    @Majelin86 - because instead of bringing up a thread that is over a year old (or in this case 3 years old) where the poster is most likely not around then just start a new thread.  Or better yet, lurk around and search for threads with the same topic because 99% of the time when "is it ok to have an uneven wedding" party is asked they will get the same answer as all the previous threads with the same question got...which is uneven sides is perfectly fine.

    @majelin86, it's also like coming into a conversation much much later. While the topic may be the same, the people who started it and participated in it aren't really around anymore.
