  They will get measured beforehand.  These measurements are sent in with their order.  When their tux comes in a few days before the wedding, it SHOULD fit fine.  They should try it on before leaving the store.  My husband's tux did not fit properly but they were able to adjust the pants in store.  They did have to reorder a different size vest, but the store rushed it and he got it no problem.  Just don't put off going to the store to try it on once you get the call it's in.

  This depends - are your groom and groomsmen buying or renting? 

  
  

  If they are buying, they should definitely make sure it fits perfectly, which might involve some tailoring. 

  
  

  If they're renting, then as PP said they should make sure to try everything on before they leave the store to ensure it's the proper fit. When DH ordered his rental, they also recommended to him that he come in a month before the wedding to get remeasured, just in case, since he had started exercising a bit more in the months ahead of the wedding (springtime = nice weather = bike rides).
