Advice for DIY Hair in dry climate

I'm from the Northeast, where the humidity is currently 80% at 7am. I'm looking for some advice about how to style my hair in the dry Vegas heat ... while I'm getting professional HMU for the wedding, I can't afford styling for bachelorette & rehearsal dinner too!

I have long, thick hair, that I'd like to get wavy/curly. Will I need extra product? Should I be deep conditioning more often? What are your recommendations?

We leave tomorrow (AAAH!) so I have some time to experiment before Thursday bachelorette & Friday rehearsal, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I have pretty curly and frizzy hair when there is humidity.  With the dry heat the frizz stays away on its on own.  For wavy/curly I usually put some mousse in and blow dry with a round brush.  Then some hair spray to keep the curl.  I found if I blow dry, then curl my curls don't last as long.  

    So exciting!!!!  Have a wonderful trip!!!
    We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!
