Reception with dinner and dancing?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has booked or came across in their research of a place (preferrably on the strip but not necessarily) that accomodates dinner and dancing together. I have a group of about 40-50 people and can't seem to find anything. It's truly bizzare! I'm only offered banquet halls that are way too big for my group or just dinner options. I refuse to believe that there is no restaurant that can accomodate a DJ! Please help

Re: Reception with dinner and dancing?

  • La Salsa Cantina has a semi private dining room. The GM said we could play from our ipad, and they can arrange the tables however we liked, to dance during or after dinner. He also said we could bring in our own dj. We ended up not booking with them. I think, also Caneletto can do the same.

  • Thanks! I'll check it out :)
  • I've found the same, but we're a bit of a different case as we have kids that will be attending. We're looking at a Banquet room... The Four Season's Mesquite Room is nice and cosy for a group of 50.
  • Our reception is going to be at the Gigi room of Joe's at the Forum Shops. If you're having 50 people there is plenty of space for a dance floor and DJ (and they have done it many times before). It also has its own bar and dedicated kitchen and waitstaff.

Our minimum (Saturday evening) is $5,000 and their four-course plated dinner is $90/pp including tax and gratuity. Nicole, their events coordinator, is easily the nicest and most attentive person I've worked with so far.

I've got more detailed info including bar packages in my wedding bio - please feel free to check it out and let me know if you have more questions!

Thanks Katelyn. Where is your ceremony? How long did you book the venue for and did they let you decorate the room? Also, the bar package for 4 hours is $66 added per person or overall? I'm a little confused about that
  • We're having our ceremony at Caesars. The default reservation is for 4 hours but can be extended. You can bring in whatever to decorate can decorate yourself as long as the room is open. We're just decorating tables and they're taking care of all that for us as long as we give detailed instructions.

The bar package prices are per person, but you can do all sorts of things other than the pre-set packages. You can pay for bottles of wine on the tables, set a dollar limit for consumption before switching to cash bar (we're thinking about doing beer & wine up to a certain amount and cocktails only cash), etc. Nicole can work with you to figure out good options based on your budget.
  • Maggiano's allows for both dinner and dancing.

They don't have a private room available for April 26 :( I'm starting to get worried about booking venues now!
  • Jenny, I wasn't crazy about how Maggianos looked
  • Darn! That stinks. There are a couple other big restaurants at the Forum Shops you might try - PJ Clarkes and Carmines are close by.
  • My wedding is booked for October 17th at Sunset Gardens.  They are not right on the strip but it is not too far.  We are having everything there... the ceremony with minister, dj, buffet, cake, photographer and open bar are all included in the price.  I have 50 guests too.  They have made everything very easy so far.  Taking a lot of the stress off of me.
  • Some of the strip hotels have a variety of sizes in ballrooms and most of the time the walls can be added if you are looking for something more intimate.  We are planning on between 50 and 75 at the Mirage and room seemed okay.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • We've got a private room booked at the Hard Rock Cafe (the one on the strip) and we're playing our own music through an ipod.  I bet you could have a DJ though if you liked.  Our room is for a maximum of 50 seated which wouldn't leave much space for dancing but they have a bigger one which can seat up to 72 guests which would leave plenty of space for dancing if you had 40-50 people.

We wanted it to be quite informal with burgers and beers etc, which isn't for everyone though!

We have children attending too and they're fine with that.  Their events coordinator Nicole is very attentive and has been great and very flexible.  If you want any info on prices etc let me know.  If I don't reply quickly apologies, I've got family staying at the moment!
  • @Nixym: I private messaged you.
  • Thanks girls

  • I booked the private sidecar room at PJ Clarke's in the Forum Shops.  They accomodate dinner and a dj with no minimum spend.  There's a bar and staff.  I'm expecting about 40 guests.  You can have up to 80 guests in that room.
