Info from those who eloped at the Gastonian?

Hi, 

So I have rebooked the Gastonian and set the date and all of that. The question I have is this: at the beginning of the ceremony did you both just sort of walk up to the officiant together or was there one of those groom waiting for the bride to come to him sort of moments? I know there isn't much of an "aisle"  but was there a walk towards the "alter" sort of thing? Also, after the ceremony were you rushed to finish the cake/champagne thing? I don't know how long that will take but I don't want the folks coming to feel rushed out either.

    I've been to a few elopements, though not at the Gastonian.  You can really do it either way.  If you want to walk up together, go for it.  If you want to walk down the "aisle", it can be done.  I like the walking down the aisle, even for an elopement.  That moment when you walk around the corner and he sees you all dressed up is just priceless.
