Walking down the aisle - 3 bridesmaids, 1 bridesMAN, 4 groomsmen

Oh, and it's a Catholic church wedding. :)

I have a maid of honor, matron of honor, bridesmaid, and bridesman (my guy best friend) and my fiance has 2 best men and 2 groomsmen.  How do I have my bridesman walk down the aisle?  Since this will be a Catholic church wedding, I can't exactly have him arm-in-arm with a groomsman.  One idea that I had was to have him walk down with my mother and have one of the groomsmen walk down with my fiance's mother.

My fiance has a sister, but he doesn't want her on his side (they don't get along too well), and I don't think he has any other close female friends.  Plus, if we add one to his side, I'll have to add one to my side and the only person I can really think of is my cousin, but she doesn't seem to really care about this wedding.

I would LOVE suggestions! Undecided

  • Hello! I have the exact same situation! I'm having my sister as matron of honor, the grooms twin sisters as bridesmaids and then my best friend (who is a guy...and gay at that) be the last member of my party while the groom has four groomsmen. What did you end up doing? I'm having trouble thinking of a way that no one would be all alone or feel uncomfortable.
  • Okay, first of all, don't dig up really old threads. It's just fine to start new ones if you have the same question.

They're walking into and out of a room. It's okay if they walk alone. What you can do is have the groomsmen at the altar at the start while your party walks in, or they can weave in (GM, BM, GM, BM ...).

And there was no need to mention that your bridesman is gay. Gay, straight, or purple, he's one of your best friends, and it doesn't make a difference at all.

My suggestion would be not to have the BMs and GMs walk down together. . . I have never liked this anyways, reminds me too much of Prom, lol!

Here's what I'd do: Have the GMs process in to their designated pew from the side of the church, or walk down the aisle to their pew lead by the groom.

Then have your bridesmaids and bride's man walk down the aisle singly, followed by whomever is going to stand on the altar with you.  Then You come down the aisle :-)

ETA: Shit! I was punked by a Zombie Thread ><
